Evening Talk on 20 November – Does your saddle fit and how can you tell?
Evening Talk – Does your saddle fit and how can you tell? with Michelle Lyall at 7pm
Our horses change frequently and this means that we need to be able to keep and eye on our saddle fit and know when to call in the saddler for a check-up. How often are you checking and do you know what to look for? If you are not absolutely sure then this talk is for you!
Learn more about this vital part of your success with your horse and how to tell when its time to call the saddler in.
During the evening we will be:
Showing you how to take a saddle map of your horse (chalking the back of the horse to understand where the saddle should go).
Discussing why the saddle might be too tight and how to recognise this.
Looking at changes in the horse that affect saddle fitting.
Talking about numnahs, pads and shimming – what works and what does not.
Having a look at different types of flocking and panel fillings.
Talking about stirrup bars and rider balance, tree and head plate shape and issues with mounting and how they affect saddles
You will find loads of practical information to think about during the evening that we hope will be of immediate benefit to your horse.
