Evening talk – Pilates, posture & developing your seat with Juliet Nicholas 23 Sept
Start time 7.15pm
After a lifetime of riding horses in many different disciplines I am only too aware of the needs of the rider, both with regards to stability and balance in the saddle, core strength and mobility right through to the realities of pushing wheelbarrows, poo picking and carting hay bales and water buckets….
We will have a question and answer session where I can help you to understand the need for this type of exercise in your life and the many ways it can help you. Maybe separate it from the gym and that environment and offer instead a more practical and functional approach that will make sense in your life both in the saddle and whilst doing all the everyday yard jobs. Think carrying water buckets in the middle of winter (arthritis in fingers and wrists)… think mucking out and poo picking (shoulder problems, lower back pain)… think pulling horse that has a poor braking system (again, shoulders, upper back)… and think about the hours you put into schooling your horse and working on his fitness and care and compare that to your own!! I bet you know exactly what you are feeding him, when he had his back checked, when he had his teeth done, when he has roadwork and when he is doing flat work versus his rest days and then look at that list against your personal needs!!!
See if you can bring your farrier along with you!!
