Diane Followell studied classical dressage with Nuno Oliveira in the early 1980s. Spending three years full-time at his school in Portugal she had daily instruction from Mr Oliveira and the opportunity to observe him schooling his own horses, giving her a unique insight into the subtle methods he used to such powerful effect. Diane works calmly and systematically with her clients in order to establish a deep, enduring bond between horse and rider. When needed, she takes them right back to basics, knowing from experience that the smallest adjustments in technique can make a huge difference in performance.
The talk is “The Importance of Balance” where Diane will discuss the factors that influence a horse’s balance, how to see when a horse is unbalanced and the impact of this on their movement, and the influence of the rider in developing a balanced horse.
